I have been trying to get 94.9 into my I-Tunes so it will play while I'm in other programs. No luck so far, however, I found a free app for I-Phone called Tunein Radio. Go to: By Location, then North America, then United States, then South Carolina, them Myrtle Beach, bingo 94.9 The Surf! I let it play so it will be Now Playing when I go to Tunein. Hopes this helps. * * * * From the Surf: Thanks so much Alex.

Do you have an APP in the works for AppleOS? I posted earlier about IHeart App. I didn't mean "hook up" to IHeart (it's a ClearChannel App... CC Stinks BTW) I meant something like that app. Would love to have you available on my IPhone.
Thanks * * * * from the Surf: Our webmaster will be with us all next week and we will work on this. Thanks for your interest.

Hi there I started listening about a month ago - from the town of Doncaster in the County of South Yorkshire, situated in central England, UK!

I wanted to echo what everyone else is saying. We love your station, missed you when you went off air and were thrilled when you came back! We're in NMB several times a year and listen constantly. When we're at home we listen online. We really enjoy Ted, Skipper, and Deac...keep up the great work!

Been listening to the Surf for years, when we would get to Aynor I'd move the dial to 94.9 & drive the wife & kids crazy for the week, but it was my week,I love the beach & beach music especially the Surf & was thrilled when I heard the bit on the radio that you were online so I began listening daily @ work & like so many others my heart sank the day I clicked the link & no Surf. Out of habit in June when I got near MB I moved the dial to 94.9 & to my surprise there you were & back online as well I heard the DJ say, so needless to say I was thrilled & even my wife & kids were happy to see the smile it brought. Now back home in Knoxville Tn Im thrilled to get a taste of MB everyday, thanks & keep up the good work & yes give the Deacon a chance, he is not perfect but who is, but he is very refreshing - Nothing against Ray Scott liked him very much as well & love all the others too but I'll be honest I listen for the music & for the area info. Thanks Again - Mitchell
Jerry Lineberry 07-22-2011 02:21 am
I read the negative comments someone else just made about the Deacon and how they just loved Ray Scott. Baloney! All Ray Scott ever did was talk to his buddies and shout at listeners like me. Not a professional dj by any means. I like the Deacon. It's about time a radio station returned to some personality and the Deacon gets it done. He's funny and he's getting better on the music. Thank you Surf for daring to do something new and for giving us back our beach music radio. Good job!

My husband and I are so happy that The Surf is back on the air. We really missed our beloved beach music. However, we miss Ray Scott. Where did you find the Freakin' Deacon? His voice is very irritating!!! He tries to be so cute and funny...which he is not. We do not like to listen to 94.9 when the Freakin' Deacon is on. Can he be replaced with a good beach music DJ? We are so happy that Ted Bell is still on and we like the Skipper. * * * From the Surf: Thanks for your compliments on Ted and The Skipper. We're sorry you don't care for the Deacon, but the overwhelming number of comments we get about Deac are positive. He's learning the music and we hope you'll give him a chance too.
Vern Shank 07-21-2011 08:59 pm
Although DJ Ray Scott is still around doing his DJing at Hoto's, Boom Booms, etc so I've heard, but where is he on the radio dial? Is he on the air anywhere?

Vern from Daytona Beach, FL. *** from the Surf: Vern, thanks for the note. Ray is not employed at The Surf, but he still does the club dj thing and we are told he does it very well.

Super to find the Surf back today, was on I-95 near Latta and hit Scan to see if could find anything good and WHAM the SURF was back, awesome. Sat down tonight and found the website and link, glad to have you back. Super.
Frank O. Hunt 07-20-2011 08:30 pm
Happy to find Ted bell gainfully employed.. Ted and I were WTMA (Tiger Radio) friends and co-workers back in the early 70's..when radio was truly king..and Queen.

On a return trip to Surfside earlier in the year, I was so disappointed when I could not find 94.9 once I in Aynor. Once I arrived in SSB, I googled 94.9 to find that you guys had gone off the air. Then just the other day I googled "beach music radio stations" at work. To my surprise, 94.9 appeared again. So happy and now you help me through daily work streaming until I get back to Surfside about once a month. Thank you.

I tried to get online with another beach station this saturday morning in Dallas NC. I could not get on and saw the link to 94.9. I've been online listening all day. It reminds me of my earlier years listening to Beach 106.5. Keep up the good work.
