Feature Charity: Rolling Thunder Rolling Thunder is a national non-profit organization dedicated to keeping Prisoner of War (POW) and Missing In Action (MIA) issues in the forefront. They are dedicated to veterans of all American wars and try to help future veterans through education of these issues. “The Ride Home”, the major annual project of Rolling Thunder, is a weekend designed to bring ex-POWs and families of MIAs to Andersonville, Georgia which is a National Park that serves as the home of the National Prisoner of War Museum. September 17 is National POW/MIA Recognition Day, and the weekend planned for The Ride Home is September 17-19. The Grand Strand chapter is involved with this weekend. Individual chapters raise money all year to secure the funds to send recipients for this weekend in honor of their courage and service to our country.
